She was nominated for an Oscar first time for her character as the wife of Stephen Hawking's character on The Theory of Everything. Jones was widely praised for her performance as Hawking's former wife. It was based on the story of Stephen Hawking. Inferno was the next film she starred in with Tom Hanks.
