Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents were dentists and a teacher recognised and backed her love for theatre and drama from a young age which was more important than a desire to become a primatologist thanks to her passion for monkeys. The early success of her career and the rapid growth in popularity marked her as a young actor. Following her studies in 1998 she was a participant in an French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she now dissociates herself from these upbringings. Along with her acting career she started a modelling career. She is also the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting career, she has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection of her photographs at Arles Film Festival. Arles Film Festival with the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on famous people, the media and press that scrutinised her following her rise to fame in the film Amelie. There are also a number of photographs featuring herself. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her first big role, starring as the lead in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office hit, receiving accolades at award ceremonies around the globe. Amelie is the most successful french-language film to hit the US. After this film's success, Tautou appeared in numerous movies ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
